You're my dream girrrlll...

Juliet is Romeo's Dream girl.       In  Act I of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet play, it was nice to see the two main characters finally meet at the Capulet feast, where they had a charming chance encounter.      Rosaline, a girl that Romeo  was crushing on but does not care for him, was at the party. But his  cousin Benvolio was pleading for Romeo to  "examine other beauties" (1.1.221), instead of being miserable trying to convince Rosaline to love him. Well, fortunate for Romeo, he found his dream girl, Juliet. It was love at first sight.  Romeo describes Juliet to the servant that she is "As a rich jewel in an Ethiop's Ear"(1.5.53) and "Beauty too rich for use."(1.5.54) Romeo wonders to himself "heart love till now?" (1.5.5.9) even since he saw his dream girl , Juliet.           Romeo went up to Juliet and started flirting, and Juliet ended up flirting back, which ended up with a true lo...

Who REALLY is the best wolf-girl?

"St. Lucy's Home for girls raised by wolfs"    Out of the three wolf-girls talked about in this story, who is really the best wolf-girl? Some may argue Mirabella or Jeanette but in my personal opinion, I think it's Claudette. I'm glad I was in the Claudette group because I truly believe she is the best one. I and my group started to look up evidence through our packets and put them on the document. Reem shared her document and we all started to work. Me, Kayden, and Dylan were working on counter arguments the first day, while the rest of my group were working on good character traits of Claudette. On the first day of researching it was a bit difficult/challenging to find any counter arguments but we did find a few. On the second day of researching our whole group were working together a...

Assimilation, an act I don't really like. Assimilation is the act of changing aspects of one’s identity, including cultural identity, to fit societal standards. Students may assimilate because of bullying, judging of others, students wanting to fit in, and/or mean comments but  no one should ever shame you for where you are from, what you eat, cultural clothing, your skin color, etc.  Y ou shouldn't change yourself because of your surroundings/what you see because culture is a beautiful thing. Culture is part of what makes you ...you . We should learn to love everyone and embrace our cultures.  Diversity could, for example, inspire you to cook a traditional dish of another culture...and end up loving it. Diversity can give you new ideas!       Students sometimes may think being different isn't the best, but it's ok to stand out! 😊 You can try to combat assimilation by learning more about your culture, asking your family about it, and jus...

Mistura

A restaurant I would recommend from my hometown is Mistura , a Peruvian restaurant. Its located at 8423 Jamaica Ave, Queens, NY 11421. The food is incredibly tasty and just makes you want to lick your fingers. In this restaurant, you can try the famous dishes like the rotisserie chicken, Arroz chaufa, tallarin saltado, lomo saltado, etc. They also offer a traditional drink called chicha morada and other drinks like lemonade, sodas, coffee, natural juices, etc. They also offer the yummiest desserts such as Crema volteada (my personal favorite), Tres leches, Tiramisu, etc. I recommend ordering the rotisserie chicken with french fries and the delicious aji verde (green spice/sauce). What's so special about this rotisserie chicken is that it's not dry like other restaurants I've gone to and with the aji verde it's, even more, yummy because it's spicy but not toooo much. The service  is very friendly aswell.   If you choose to orde...
