Assimilation, an act I don't really like. Assimilation is the act of changing aspects of one’s identity, including cultural identity, to fit societal standards. Students may assimilate because of bullying, judging of others, students wanting to fit in, and/or mean comments but no one should ever shame you for where you are from, what you eat, cultural clothing, your skin color, etc. Y ou shouldn't change yourself because of your surroundings/what you see because culture is a beautiful thing. Culture is part of what makes you ...you . We should learn to love everyone and embrace our cultures. Diversity could, for example, inspire you to cook a traditional dish of another culture...and end up loving it. Diversity can give you new ideas!
